We bake our family-recipe Italian Sweet bread shaped in mini wreaths from time to time. Each wreath is decorated with colorful sprinkles and weigh about 6.4 oz. The texture is soft, tender and cookie-like while the flavor is somewhat like a sweet & buttery shortbread. These are easily slice-able, and great for dessert with coffee or tea or even for breakfast. Wreaths come individually wrapped in a cello bag with decorative ribbon.
Italian Sweet Bread was a family tradition in my home. Traditionally the breads are made at Easter in a circular braided wreath shape. They had three hard-boiled eggs held in place with crisscrossed dough over top; baked into the dough.
